Use Calorie Restriction to lose body fat

Getting rid of body fat is a common interest. There are thousands of books written about it and thousands of people making millions of dollars selling the latest fad diet.
I have read far to many books on the subject and tried far to many of the latest fad diets. I have found that none of the self help books or fad diets work for me and I would say they don’t work for millions of overweight people.
What did help me and continues to help is common sense Calorie Restriction with the highest quality food choices and making sure I get the proper nutrients from the food choices.
I discovered early that I had to stop eating all the processed foods, all of them. These foods used to be very healthy but today they are poison. They create and maintain fat in our bodies. So, for me I will not routinely eat sugar, rice, potatoes, pasta, bread, milk products except non-fat cottage cheese and absolutely nothing made with ingredients I cant pronounce and never anything pre-made. That would include the deli section at the grocery store.
I can have a cookie and even something on my NO list but never on back to back days. Those foods are not even allowed in the house.
I find the best way to not eat them is to not have them close by. I still don’t trust myself with them around. The lure of sugar is to strong and I am too weak.

How to lose body fat

  1. Keep your protein high, at least 60g. a day. This is the most important aspect of losing body fat. When you diet your body uses it’s stored carbohydrates to give you energy. If your protein intake is low your body will begin to use muscle to give your body energy. When your body begins to use that muscle for energy you begin to lose muscle.
By using software such as the cronOmeter you can see how many nutrients your getting from your food choices.
  2. To lose body fat you need to count your calories. If you burn off less calories than you eat you will store fat, but if you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose fat. It is not hard to count calories. Guessing and lying is very common, don’t fall in the trap. Be honest with yourself.
  3. To lose body fat cut back on the processed dense food, and sugary drinks. Sugary drinks are one of the most common reasons people gain body fat. Processed food is very hard on you metabolism and causes it to move slower.

Calorie Restriction shouldn’t be taken lightly. It is a life time commitment but one worth taking. By removing the poison foods from your diet you will become leaner, healthier and in control.
I lost 86 pounds with no added exercise and don’t drink water unless I am thirsty. I do drink lots of tea.

Starting weight

I started Calorie Restriction September 07, I weighed 227 pounds back then. I am now a very lean 141 and intend to be an even leaner 117 in a few months. I am in no hurry. I joined a gym this week, not to lose weight but to tone muslces. So far so good, it is a long drive there and back and as long as I can afford the gas I have the time. I hope I start feeling the results in a few weeks, that will make it worth the effort.
