Living the CR way
A one year anniversary will be here soon. One full year of my new lifestyle. I would say it has been a success. I have lost 70 pounds and feel great. Eating CR or close as I can do it, has been fairly easy for me. I have always liked natural and fresh food anyway and so has the Greek. He had to give up Twinkies and I gave up wine, ice cream and M&M’s. I don’t miss them one bit.
Green Tea
I have recently discovered the pleasures of Organic Green Teas. I had no clue how good it can be for you. I am convinced it has helped my finger joint pain. The fingers are looking pretty good again. No big swollen knuckles. My jewelry is fitting again too. I think everybody should drink green tea for it’s health benefits. I am trying several different brands and types, I have no favorites yet. I should do a tea comparison.
Goal for July
I want to lose at least 6 pounds this month. The past two months have been pretty bad for me. June I lost only 3 pounds. The least amount in 8 months. I was pretty surprised to see the scale finally drop below 160 and stay there for 2 days in a row. I have just 2 pounds to go and I will have lost 70 pounds since I started counting calories Sept. 07.
I found out that I am not 5ft 7. Seems I am 5ft 6. Now I have to lose even more weight. I haven’t bothered to find out how much. I wanted to be 160 because that gets me out of the fat category for my used to be height. Now I don’t know what it is. That one inch might make a big difference.
Foods I am enjoying
Cabbage salads with lots of carrots and broc mixed with a few raisins and a bit of salad dressing. I am still looking for the perfect one.
Fresh nectarines, just love them this time of the year. Fish tacos with Mahi Mahi, cranberry and chipotle dressing and lots of cabbage wrapped in a low calorie corn tortilla. Organic fresh top sirloin, we will be having that the 4th of July. I am still eating fish 3 times a week, our favorites are Wild caught Salmon and Halibut.
Groceries
With my recent loss of income I had decided to cut back on the groceries. I gave myself $150 for groceries and wanted to spend half that. Well, I will be danged, I can’t. In fact the groceries have gone up. I spent $160 today and didn’t get enough to last the week. I think I bought enough to cook 6 meals, no lunches in there. I have 2 eggs for breakfast so that is covered but lunch is not. Guess I will have to leave some dinner for lunch the next day.
I just can’t figure out how to spend less. I go shopping with a list, I try to never buy anything that isn’t on it. I never go down the middle isles in the store, I don’t buy milk or milk products, nothing canned, nothing boxed, no frozen meals or prepared meals, no cookies, crackers, chips. Just veggies and fish and the occasional meat. $160 is way to much.
Maybe next week will be better.
You are doing a great job!!! Lose slowly and it is more likely to stay off. Gaining weight takes a long time so should losing it. Stay positive you are totally on the right track. Try different salad combos to keep things interesting. Don’t give up.
