It’s not my fault

The magazine Eating Well has a good article on CR and it’s benefits. It is worth a read.
A quote from the magazine,

Muscle Mass

So even if you maintain the same level of exercise and calorie intake, you tend to accumulate fat. Regular exercise can help offset reduced muscle metabolism and help you stay lean. So will choosing nutrient-dense, lower-calorie foods.”

So this is what happened to me? I was blaming the Greek all these years, I was thin when I met him (35 years old) and started gaining weight shortly after I married him and started living a different lifestyle. Staying home, cooking, eating dessert, and not dancing, drinking and acting wild and single. I guess it isn’t his fault after all. Well, I am taking charge, I bought a Women’s Formula from BaselineNutritional’s that might help me. I have taken it for two days. I can’t tell any change yet, but I can say, I sure am feeling great. Here is a good article about it. I hope it works for me, I seem to be the person this article was written for.

Breakfast

Today I started my new morning routine: a glass of Orange Juice with some fresh ground Organic Flax seeds, a slice of Whole Wheat bread and an Advanced digestive enzyme. I do believe I am getting a reaction from the enzyme. I am feeling a bit of a rush, it is happening to me as I type this. I took a supplement last night at dinner and it did the same thing. I need to find out if this is normal and will it eventually stop.

The new breakfast routine has added 150 calories to my day. I sure hope the food keeps me happy longer. I will have to cut back on something I was eating. Possibly grapes. They are so darn good and filling. Has to be all the sugar in them that I like. I will have 1/2 cup of legumes instead of a full cup.

Heirloom Beans

Yesterday I ordered some Rancho Gordo beans. The last time I was cooking pinto beans they tasted bland and almost fell apart in the pot. The skins seem tough too. I am hoping these heirloom beans will be a huge improvement. I love all types of beans so I am really looking forward to getting them. They should be here tomorrow.

Vitamin supplements

I need to change my Vitamin D and calcium from Ground Oyster shells to food base, this is the one I want. My supplements are pretty much getting tossed out for the higher quality ones. I didn’t educate myself on buying vitamins. I now plan on taking it slower to learn what will help me and what I need. Right now I will continue with the CosaminDS, it has given me new life to my legs and hips. I am afraid to stop taking it. I was barely able to walk for about a year until I started taking it. I am now pain free and have been for months. Standing still bothers me, like cooking on Thanksgiving, I didn’t have pain while standing, it was after the day was over. The next day I was in horrible pain and it still hasn’t completely left one leg almost 2 weeks later.

Real Age

I took the Real Age Test again, the first time I took it I was 77 in real age, today I am 64. My actual age is 66, I don’t know if I learned how to answer the questions better or if I am doing better. The way I feel, I am doing better, but, I did say I was exercising 15 minutes 5 times a week, I plan on it, that has to count. I also said I was eating more grains than I am. It didn’t ask about legumes so I said I am eating whole grains, which I am not, until today. I also added in dental flossing which I am doing. I am still to heavy, of course it recommends I do something about that, duh, I am trying.
