Calorie Restriction with 70% Raw food

I am doing pretty good with the raw during the day routine combined with Calorie Restriction. I read that when eating raw I shouldn’t need to count calories, this just isn’t so for me. I need to know not only the calories but the nutrients in my food as I am still no informed enough to go it alone. I also need to keep my calories low because I am still actively losing weight. I have 20 pounds left to lose and need to eat about 1100 calories a day.

My long term goals are to still have the benefits of Calorie Restriction for long term good health while eating a 70% raw food diet. I have been reading a few books that have helped me. The Raw Food Detox Diet and Raw Food Life Force Energy, both books are by Natalia Rose. I recommend the first one, I don’t completely understand the Life Force Energy part of the second one. I have tried a few of the recipes from the Detox book and love them, in fact I eat the Apple Raisin salad everyday.

My weight is finally back to 139, apparently I gained some muscle weight combined with overeating dried fruit. I am no longer going to buy the dried fruit but will continue to exercise half hour 3 times a week. I also intend to start using the trampoline. I understand it is one of the best exercises for our bodies. It is certainly easy to do. I just have to take off all the crap that has collected on it. I practically trip over it every day so it is easy enough to jump on it.

My goal weight is still the same, I calculated it using the Calorie Restriction Society guidelines.

  • 5 feet = 100 pounds
  • 5 pounds for each inch = 30 pounds
  • Total 130
  • Minus 10% for optimal health
  • 130 – 13 = 117 pounds

So 117 is my goal weight, I will be happy with anything close to it. I am still in no hurry to get there. My body is very lean right now, I am wearing a size 6 at 139 pounds. In fact, a skinny jeans size 6, which means very tight legs and through the hip.

  • My current measurements are:
  • Bust- 39 in.
  • Waist -27 in.
  • Hips – 38 in.
  • Upper Arm – 11 in.
  • Thigh- 18 in.
  • Weight 139
  • Height 5 ft. 6in.

A huge change since Sept. 07 when my waist was about 46 in. I didn’t take other measurements then. If I did I am sure they are in the archives on this blog. I remember not wanting to know.

you have done an amazing job. i read your blog and i can see how you have learned so much and continue to do so. ive been a health seeker for 30 years an im very familiar with raw, i see it as our optimal diet, but 100% is completely not doable for me cuz i sabotage myself trying to be perfect, but i do strive for high raw, aka hallelujah diet- 80% raw and cooked vegan dinner. but my point is ive seen many fat raw fooders and MANY fat hallelujah dieters, that said i dont think there is any way of eating that you can eat as much as you want, unless you just have a great metabolism. that’s why i have added the calorie counting to it. keep up the good work.
