Calorie Restriction for Life

Today I am 154 pounds. I have been recalling the last time it was 154. It was back in 1987. I remember it clearly, because I was very uncomfortable in my size 10 clothes. I lost 20 pounds and started my gain loss cycle until 21 years later I was almost 100 pounds over weight. I thought I would never see size 10’s again.

Not another diet.

I was scared to go on another diet because I always gained it all back in months, plus more.
This time last year, I was shocked to see myself in pictures. I refused to have them taken but could not say no to a favorite Uncle. He sent a copy thinking he was doing a good thing. I guess it was a “good thing.” I was shocked into loosing weight.
I searched the internet for help. I found the CR Society and knew right away I could do it. Eating the CR way is the only thing that made sense.
I knew I would have to eat this way for life so it was important that I love the food and it was food I know how to prepare.
I did give up foods that are bad for everybody, including most dairy and all processed foods and anything with hi fructose corn syrup in it.
I found this easy to do. It was amazing how easy. Once I started eating the wholesome and filling CR way I lost the cravings for the bad foods.

Learn how many calories to eat

Before starting CR find out how many calories your body needs. Put in your goal weight not your current weight. If you eat what your body needs to maintain at goal you will loose weight. When your reach goal your body has adjusted to this amount of calories, eat this amount for life. If you practice true CR eat 10-30% less. I am in the middle with this. I eat CR foods, make sure I do not eat too many calories, but do not go as low as 30% less.
Calories for my height are 1445 per day. Four hundred calories less is hard to do every day so I vary from 1000-1500. It is necessary to know how many calories you are eating. Learn them, use them, write them down, and weigh your food if you need to.
One year later, I am down 75 pounds and wearing those size 10′s again, Thanks Uncle Bill for the pictures.
