Calorie Restriction and Paleo diet

Paleo diet

I have been reading about the Paleo diet online. I intend to get the book so I can learn more. I believe I have been eating and living this way for almost 19 months and didn’t know it had a name. I am very excited to find a few books about it. I am sure it will be easy to combine the two lifestyle.

I made a vlog about my recent weight gain, blaming it on wheat and hunger after exercising. After I thought deeper into it I am now convinced I can curb the appetite in another way and stop eating cottage cheese. This will make me very happy. I had been feeling I was doing something not quit right by eating milk products again.

The new revised plan will be to eat fruit in the morning, before and after the gym. Nothing but fruit until around 3p.m. when I will have a huge bowl of dark leafy greens. I might juice them, but for now I don’t own a juicer. I can actually get more greens down if I juice them. So I am hunting for a middle priced one. Until then I will make myself a raw cabbage salad, mostly because I don’t have organic greens in the house.

So fruit in the mornings and early afternoon then greens and a later dinner. I had been eating dinner too early making me hungry late at night. Since I won’t be snacking on fruit at night I need to make dinner last all evening. I might have 23 almonds (1oz) if I can afford the calories.

I still intend to count calories and use the cronOmeter to make sure I am getting the proper nutrients. Since I will not be eating cottage cheese and eggs I need to find a good protein source. I will still have fish, chicken and beef for dinner only.

It is about time I revamped my eating. It was a bit out of control with high carb fruits late at night. I can control it better during the day. The big plan is to eat raw during the day with a cooked dinner.

This is my first day doing it and it worked perfectly. No hunger pangs after the workout and I really enjoyed my food today. I had 4 cuties, 1 banana, 2 cup blueberries, that is less than I normally had in fruit. I then made a huge chopped cabbage bowl, about 3 cups with a bit of dressing and vinegar. Dinner was halibut with beets. Snack, 23 almonds. Calories was very good 1095. Perfect for me.  That is my weight loss calories not my maintenance. That will be a bit higher most likely 1300 to 1400. It sure will be nice to get there. I still have 20 pounds to lose.

I am pretty excited to try the Paleo diet with Calorie Restriction along with raw foods. I hope I can afford it. All the raw organic greens that are out of season. Well, at least I know where to buy them.

    Hi Margie,

This is Sue (aka eyecand00this). Thanks for sharing your experience with different foods at different times of the day. I have had a few nights when I’ve gone to bed hungry and then didn’t sleep well. I am interested in reading about the Paleo diet now. Sue
