Calorie Restriction

I have not been using the cronOmeter has much as I like. It shows too, my weight loss has stalled. I am not sure if it is because of me changing my eating habits again or exercising and gaining muscle weight.

I intentionally work out the bare minimum to keep my body active and limber. Anymore exercise and I would hate it. There is no way I will ever enjoy it so why force myself to do it. I sure don’t need to exercise to lose weight. I have proven that by losing 90 pounds and not exercising. Since I joined the gym in Jan. 09 I have not lost any weight. I haven’t tried very hard either.

I have switched my eating again. The raw food is going great, all I changed it having the green juice later in the day. I was having a hard time figuring out how to time it so I wouldn’t be hungry later in the day. I think it is best for me to drink a hot tea and eat a piece of fruit for breakfast around 11AM then have the juice around 1 when I am just starting to get hungry. The juice fills me up for several hours which is what I needed. Then I can have either a green salad or a veggie salad just before I cook dinner. This works better for me and it is less food. I will have to put all this in the cronOmeter to see how the nutrients are. My hope is that I have figured out how to eat less this way and stay full most of the day.

I have intentionally been raising my calories for a few days then restricting them again. I want to see if I can increase my metabolism for the final weight loss. I think I am almost there. I have maintained my weight for several weeks now and even have eaten 2000 calories without a gain. That is a huge amount of calories for me. I sure don’t want my body to get used to that many each day.  I will be ready to restrict calories next week and stay that way. I can’t figure out any other way to get the last 20 pounds off. I am sure this is going to do it. It is also a good feeling to restrict for a few days then have around 1800 calories for one day. I sure am never hungry.

    Hi Marjie,

I have been reading your blog and really enjoying it! I am really interested in starting a CR way of life. I have been a raw foodist for the last 2.5 years! I was wondering, have you found a good site to calculate the total calories for juiced friut and veg? or are the calories the same because juicing simply extracts the fiber?

    Keep up the great work!

    Linda

I use the cronOmeter to count calories using the whole food item. In other words if I put one apple in my green juice I enter one apple into the cronOmeter.
